Sometimes you just need to start!

I have been having a month off from teaching and have totally procrastinated on all other aspects of my life- my art has been affected and I feel horrible about it.

The only task I have accomplished this month is purging the house. I have gone room by room going through closets, cabinets, bookshelves, desks, file cabinets and dressers. There is a lot of stuff for the yard sale in October ( now I have to look at piles scattered around the house.)

Last week and this week I am working on the attic- lots of the kids art work, collections and toys and of course things that do not need to stay. The attic is hot. I thought I would loose weight sweating it off, but no! The up there now is amazing. It is over 1000 sq ft asking to be made into a real room like a mixed media stusio and office!

Back to procrastination…
I have not done any studio work, social media, teaching at the colleges. Now I have a week to prep myself to go back to the real world and my act together again.

When you find yourself procrastinating, what do you do to get out of the slump?
