Looking for a Stained Glass Class?
My Winter session at Wilson Community College Morning Class in Wilson, NC still has openings. It starts January 5, 2026 and runs through March 16, 2026. It starts at 10 am and ends at 12:30 pm, no class January 19 for MLK Day.
No tools are needed as the College provides them for classroom use. You would only have to purchase glass, copper foil, solder and zinc came- this all runs between $70 and 100 depending on the type and color of glass you purchase (reds, oranges and yellows are more expensive because they have gold in them).
The First Morning we will cover types of glass, tools and their uses, pattern selection and where you can purchase supplies. Before the second class you will need to get your supplies.
There are 14 patterns to choose from, and all are 12” by 16”, so it is a fair-sized panel to make. I feel if a student is going to invest in the class the piece should be big enough to show for it, not a little suncatcher.
Will you finish the project in class? Yes, if you don’t miss a lot of classes. Most people finish between 7 and 9 weeks. After that you can start smaller project that can be completed before March 16.
You can register for the class at Wilson Community College, here is a link to the Registration Page.
