Preparing for the Quiet Season!

I love this time of year! Classes are wrapping up. Markets are almost done. It is cool out, leaves have fallen. This means I get some Quiet Time.

I relish this time- no schedule, no plan. I will be working on my business of course. Wrapping up repairs that are on the workbench. Planning for 2026- classes, events and collections.

I am planning a sale on artwork in January- time to let some pieces go. Some supplies will also be available at reduced prices as well. I will send out a little email confirming that, so keep an eye out for the next newsletter.

I took the last week of November off to purge the rooms at the house. The house is feeling heavy currently. I did a big one in the spring, but it is time again. It is amazing how much creeps in! Ha ha! I always feel wonderful and weightless after a purge. It is better to let go of stuff than keep it hidden away.

The next big purge will be in spring when it warms up enough to tackle the attic. That is a big one. When I moved in, I just toted the overload up there and did not touch it.

Do you take time off this time of year to purge/cleanse your home or studio? Or do you do it in spring?

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Off now to go make a Steamed Pumpkin Pudding for Thanksgiving. Making this brings back memories of my Mom making them for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So happy all my kids make them and carry on the tradition.
