Becoming an Artist

I have been teaching stained glass classes since 2004. I wish I had a list of everyone that came through but sadly I do not. I do have rosters from some venues and will one day count up those numbers.

When new students start a class they have no idea what is in store for them. Some stop after that first project but most conitue on. Martha started in 2009 and is still creating and selling. Many of my students from Fort Belvoir in Virginia are still creating- Jo, Bob, Jim, Steven, Carol, Norm, Rebecca, Vicki and many more.

I am so proud of all my students, past, present and futire. To see them walk in to class on the first day not knowing and walking out on the last day with a finished panel that they can be proud of- it brings a smile to my heart.

I have heard too many times, I am not an artist- please never say that out loud. There is an artist inside everyone- it my be visual, written, filmed, danced, sung, created with hands- all are forms of art and they are artists.

Just look at the faces on this happy students! Two are still working with stained glass.

Where was this going, it you ever wanted to try a art form or craft, do not be afraid to try. You might fall in love with the medium and become the artist you are meant to be.

If you want to learn more about stained glass classes, feel free to reach out to me. If you do not live locally, I can help you find an instructor near you.

Keep art in your heART!
