When I first heard about the program I was so excited. Then reality set in, middle schoolers and glass- is that a good combination. Well it turns out it sure can be. We have finished 2 days of the 12 days and I am still excited, I worked myself up thinking about what could go wrong, what if they hate it, what if they think I am lame.
I should remind myself to stop putting too much thought into it and go with the flow.
There are some very special young people in the group- helping their art program mates that were having problems and also cleaning up after the session. They went above and beyond.
The art teacher, Mrs Boykin is amazing, she is patient and floats around the classroom helping everyone and keeping an eye on all the students, just in case.
I have so happy the NCMA reached out to me to teach and that Springfield Middle School decided to have the program. Thank yyou to everyone involved.
I am not taking photos during the art program for the safety of the students. I will try to get project photos and maybe some of the hands that created them.
