The art exhibition that has inspired me the most is the hunt for David Ramsay Sellars, my great grandfather's water colours in Dundee. The Manus has some of his paintings but it was closed for renovations when I was there in 2007 and I did not get to see them.
But I did get to go to Dundee High School and see the room that he assisted in art classes in. I stood where he stood. It was the most amazing feeling. I cried. I could feel him there. I tried to find his home but it was gone and the plot developed, I did find a similar neighborhood and what I imagined his home looked like. Walking around Dundee I felt like I was walking with David.
