Oh no, Wesley's photo is gone. Where did he go? I think he needed a vacation from all the studio work we have been doing. He did send this photo from wherever he is.

Hard to believe six weeks of summer art camp are done. The time flew by. I wish I had photos of the kids and their projects but because of privacy I could not take any pictures. There were three sessions of two weeks with kids 5 to 10 years old. We met for ten days and did new projects each and every day. There was even a little girl that attend two sessions! I had kids in the first session say they were going to make jewelry when they grew up, here's to hoping.
I did learn a lot about myself. At first the younger kids were hard to handle, I forgot how five year olds work and think. As time wore on I fell in love with teaching youngsters all over again. At the end of each session I was sad to see the kids go abut excited to meet the new batch of kids, Now it is all over and I am going through kid withdrawal! Say it ain't so Kim! Can you believe it? Yes it is true. I love to teach. And now I realize that is a very important part of my business, teaching both young and older. I am always afraid that I am an overbearing instructor but the reviews I receive at different venues say different. My students love my teaching style and how I let them learn but step in if they are about to mess up. I guess the seven years of homeschooling and sixteen years of being a Girl Scout Leader helped me develop into the instructor I am today. Thank you opportunties of the past! Since I have no photos from class I will leave you with the following photo..... i can not believe it August already. The summer has flown by and my "honey do" hardly has a dent in it. I wish I could slow down time so I could make up for the lost time but I guess I am just going to have to get to work and worry about the future instead of dwelling on the past. I am happy with what I have accomplished so far this summer.
A couple of changes in where my work can be found has saddened me. Artful Gifts in Vienna closed its doors and Greenstreet Gardens in Del Ray stopped carrying consignment items. I enjoyed being in both shops so it makes it harder. Now I am on the hunt for new shops. Do you know of any places that might like stained glass wind chimes and domino bracelets? One of my bad habits is ice cream and I am craving some Yuengling's Balck and Tan Ice Cream right now! I thought about making an ice cream run but I am working hard to correct my diet and exercise program. No that is not true, I did not have a healthy diet and exercise program two weeks ago, but now I am working with a coach and she is strict!. Better get back to work....... |
