Happy Autumn!

Seems like just yesterday it was summer. We have had two days of rain and the ground is soggy. So many acorns have fallen and they are huge this fall. Is that a sign? Long, cold winter? Winter is coming. I forget each year how many leaves the 24 trees in my yard drop. I love them trees truly I do. We usually have two batches of 36 bags of leaves. Sending the leaves to the dump breaks my heart, I hate adding to the waste but if I left them the grass would not grow in the spring. I have used the mulcher to reduce the amount but still it is a lot. And to think I used to live in the desert with no trees back in the 1980's, just mesquite and tumbleweeds.

So what does the fall have in mind for us here? My house is on the market, not a fun job keeping it picked up. I have a storage unit off site to contain all the things that give the house our personality. My jewelry studio has no workbench because we want the room to look big, so now I do jewelry work in stained glass studio. This is a good segway into combining both studios on the other end. It now seems silly to have two studios. I did love the separation at one time.

I am getting ready for my first craft fair of the season, Art on the Avenue in Del Ray October 1 10 am to 6 pm, rain or shine. I am in Booth W172 if you would like to come and visit me. I will be bringing some new stained glass jewelry pieces.

Upcoming classes (check the Classes Tab in Nav Bar for details) are:Jewelry Making Beyond the Basics at Arlington Adult Ed, Jewelry Basics at the Center for the Arts in Manassas, PMC Wrapped Pottery at Star's Beads,Stained Glass Bracelet at Star's Beads, Kumihimo at the Center for the Arts in Manassas, Jewelry Making the Next Level at Arlington Adult Ed, Molding Making at Star's Beads, 3-D Stained Glass at the Workhouse Arts Center, Jewelry Making the Next Level at Fairfax Parks & Rec Lee District Rec Center,Stained Glass Earrings at Star's Beads, Jewelry Making Beyond the Basics at Fairfax Parks & Rec Lee District Rec Center,PMC Push Mold at Star's Beads (using the mold made in earlier class at Star's), Stained Glass Pendant at Star's Beads.

I am waiting to hear back on acceptance to other craft fairs this fall and they will be posted under Events.

What are your plans for this fall? Any autumn trips? Fairs or shows? Maybe a get-a-way?  Let me know what you are up to. If you are doing any fairs or shows please let me know so I can visit you and promote it as well.

If you want to schedule some studio time or take a class please let me know so we can put it on the calendar, it is filling up fast.

Happy Autumn!
