Back in August I submitted four pieces for the 3rd Mix Media Juried Exhibition at Wilson Arts Council. Three hundred pieces were submitted and sixty were selected. Only one of my four was selected, Woodstock. It is fine as he deserved to be selected individually.
I loved designing and making this piece. Being from New York and a child of the 60's and all. One of my sisters and one of my cousins and his band attended the Concert of a Lifetime. There are ties to the event.
I happen to know the person who bought Woodstock and I am glad that he will hang in her house.
I am grateful to Wilson Arts Council for the opportunity to submit, be selected and have sold in this Mixed Media Exhibition.
Have you ever submitted for a National Juried Exhibition? I have numerous times. Since living here in North Carolina I have submitted to over two dozen and not gotten chosen. It is ok, a learning experience is always worth the cost of admission. Do not give up, keep working and putting yourself out there. One day you will get the answer you want.
Have a wonderful week and keep making art!
